A canoe journey across Lake Maggiore

Start in Arona, on the Piedmont side of Lake Maggiore, and paddle towards Angera in Lombardy. Instead of following the shoreline, the route takes you across the lake, offering open views of the water, surrounding mountains and both sides of the lake.

From town to nature

As you leave Arona behind, the atmosphere changes quickly. The traffic and lakeside promenade give way to open water and quieter landscapes. Approaching Angera, the route enters the Gulf of Angera, where the scenery becomes increasingly natural.

Isolino Partegora

One of the landmarks along the route is Isolino Partegora, a small island in the Gulf of Angera. Seen from the canoe, it becomes part of a wider landscape of water, reeds and lakeside vegetation.

The Rocca di Angera from the water

As Angera comes closer, the Rocca di Angera becomes clearly visible above the lakeshore. Approaching the historic fortress by canoe creates a perspective that cannot be experienced from the road or lakeside promenade.

From Piedmont to Lombardy

This experience connects two towns and two Italian regions through Lake Maggiore itself. It is more than a canoe excursion: it is a small journey across the lake, with Arona behind you and Angera ahead.

The pace is deliberately relaxed, leaving time to paddle, take photographs and enjoy the scenery. On request, the experience can also include optional extras such as a toast, a small aperitif or a herbal tea on board.
