A special event to enjoy together

Some events are organised in advance. Others are inspired by nature.

Every summer, Lake Varese offers one of its most beautiful sights: the spectacular water lily bloom. For a few weeks, part of the lake is transformed into an extraordinary landscape, where thousands of flowers emerge from the water and create an atmosphere unlike anywhere else.

This is the inspiration behind the Meeting Loto Experience, a special event created to enjoy this natural wonder from the best possible perspective: aboard a Canadian canoe.

We'll paddle slowly through the water lilies, enjoying the silence, colours and scenery of Lake Varese. Along the way we'll also reach Isolino Virginia, a small island with thousands of years of history and part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site “Prehistoric Pile Dwellings around the Alps”.

But the Meeting Loto Experience is more than just a canoe excursion. It's a day designed to be shared with others, combining nature, outdoor activity and good company.

A day on the lake, at your own pace

The experience is designed as a relaxed day outdoors. After paddling, there will be time to stop, relax and enjoy the company of the group.

There is no need to rush: the idea is simply to enjoy the lake, the landscape and the pleasure of spending a special day together.

An event shaped by nature

The Meeting Loto Experience follows the rhythm of Lake Varese. The water lily bloom is a natural phenomenon, so its timing and intensity can vary from year to year depending on weather, temperature and water conditions.

That's precisely what makes the event special. Every edition is different: the lake changes, the flowers follow their natural cycle and the people taking part make every Meeting Loto Experience unique.

When Lake Varese is in bloom

The best period to admire the water lilies is usually between June and September. During these weeks, some areas of the lake are covered by large green leaves and flowers, creating a completely different landscape from the one you see during the rest of the year.

Seeing this spectacle from a Canadian canoe makes the experience even more special. Moving quietly across the water allows us to approach these areas slowly and observe the lake from a privileged perspective, without disturbing its natural environment.
